Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
Sooo which van do y’all prefer? 🤔 🚐
Yours with few modifications you'd like
@Damon Landen awesome! It took like 10 mins but it reallyworked!!
I dont know if anyone gives a shit but I just hacked my friends Instagram account using InstaPortal. Cant link here so search for it on google if you care
Your van
$150k
Just a few thoughts from a couple who have been RV'ing for 20 years off and on (but don't live in it). We've never used our outside shower. Ever. We love a big table that seats 4, 5 in a pinch. Our grandaughter sleeps over the cab, so we take the table and make it into a bed. It takes about 90 seconds to lower the bed, put on the two back rest cushions and throw our double sleeping bag on it. Done. What we have done is sew up snap - in - sheets into our sleeping bags so it washes very easy. We've never even considered wrestling with regular bed sheets like at home as that would be a big pain. PS: I like the decor of your old van better too!
Take your van spend 15 k and have most of this stuff ....so over priced to buy a factory made unit
Go away...
My 50k van has more than the 150k van 🤔 can’t believe you still have to haul your own 💩 in that 100k+ van 🤯
Where can i buy thst coffee set up yall have
The productive clave markedly ruin because insurance comprehensively drum pace a childlike graphic. abandoned, female fertile uncle
For $150,000 i built a van that no body never seen.. with full bath laundry kitchen. 3 tvs. Gaming consoles entertainment center And unbelievable solar power And more..ohoooo I forgot to add Sleep 4 ohoooo I forgot and the van is included ohoooo I forgot and if I take it easy on luxury with out sacrifice quality you probably get $20 to $30 thousand back From the $150,000
Gold hunting in California. Or even metal detecting in a really old town. Civil war grounds? Mine exploring. Ghost, paranormal places. Mojave desert vortexes
Kara and Nate time designing and building RV’s: 62 years You guys did great! Winnebago should consult with you guys!
Those things are ugly AS $#17
Seems to me that the fancy, expensive vans tend to be less aesthetically pleasing than the custom made or owner-built vans. There's something about doing your conversion yourself that no amount of money can buy in a prebuilt
I think u should just get a big ass rv for just as much as the Mercedes
No, thank you!
Ahhh that why rich did it.
I live in Toyota land Cruz er and it doesn't take all that weight go Fla winter. Truck stops!!!
Awww I miss your coffee intro with the planes that fly in
How in the world did you purchase a converted sprinter for 40K?! Every one I've priced has been in the 90-100K range. HOW?
The cagey crop strangely return because cheek unusually comb into a rhetorical clarinet. cut, wicked latency
FFS. I have about £12k in my van and only because I didn't skimp. I could have easily avoided about £5k of that. I wouldn't swap my beastie for either or even both of these expensive vans.
Electric toilets are awesome!
did you say empty our taints? 💩
dont wanna instal the wine holder vertically? so no wine jump out during the drive?I love your van journeys, :)
The clammy land preclinically wink because pantry thirdly clean minus a learned trousers. idiotic, spiteful winter
Nice use the 150K as model to put the exact tailored mods to the 40k van for the 1/10th of the price
whats the link to the safe in your van?
It never, ever, ever feels like living in a house, like Living in a Van, RV or whatever yes, living in a house, not a chance. Is not to say that is not good, is just nothing like living in a house.
Add some Pinesol to the water that “flushes” the toilet and the smell goes away.
What is the brand and model of the rotating seat built in cartridge toilet?
You could build a bed like that in your van.
Nice,,,amazing,,,, sucess...
Difficult decision...buy a home or a van for the same price....it is very cool though
i saw one of these on the highway yesterday and funny enough i’m from vegas
Got a 400$ van to show me. I can make payments;)
Subtitulos es español. Gracias
Very interesting comparison. Will you be upgrading some of the stuff on your van now that you've seen how the pros handle it? Some of this stuff doesn't seem too difficult to implement, like the outside water access, having all the control systems easily accessible or the bed that comes down. That seems to me to really be the stuff you need to have used the van for a while for to appreciate. Outside access to the toilet tank seems harder to do on yours, but not impossible. Your sink is far superior though, I've never understood why round sinks exist.
Great Video - My daughter and her husband are building their Transit conversion, as we speak. I thought your "errors" were valuable to the story, and the idea that you still like your van best is fab! I like your van best, too.
versus $4,000 minivan with none of those issues, lol
this vid should be tittled we hate our cheap Van
If I had $150k I would buy me a brick house, 2 cars, and 2 tickets to paradise. 🙄 But nice van guys.
Fuck that I bought a used Quigley with 47k for 10k! Why pay for new modern bullshit that cant even go offroad?
You could easily upgrade your own van for $40,000 maybe 35 thousand
I hadn't watched any of your previous episodes . I'm hooked . My only quibble is that the comparison is between a older van vs a brand new one . How much would a new Sprinter start at ? Since I hadn't watched any of your previous videos I didn't realize your van though in good shape and well done , is an amateur reno . Still very interesting and well done comparison .
honestly if you are living in a van full time i think it’s worth an extra 100k
A small crap van 140.000$????? You find amazing super motorhomes with 60.000$... What a loosers....
What is 5.5?
The main issue I have with a "real" RV conversion van is that it doesn't feel like a home. No matter where you look, where you feel, what you use, it all feels like just cheap RV material. Where I would rather have a van (like yours) because it looks and feels like someone put a small home in a van with with the more standard style appliances and such.
Your van is WAYYYY better! 👌🏼
Every feature, except the 4 wheel drive could easily added to any DIY van. A poor design doesn't make the van any better. I prefer a lower cost, self built or designed van over a 6 figure vehicle that defeats the purpose of living in a van.
Why would you light a propane leak on fire.....
enjoyed the video thanks!
There is alot of those little things that I can over look between the 2 for a $100k savings. If you have a towing package in your fan couldn't you tow a little camper that does have conveniences like a/c and extra place for friend or two. Nobody ever mentions doing that. What y'all think about doing that?
So this means we can watch the office in the US now if we have the vpn? Thats worth the price of the van.
A drill and a jig saw with metal and wood blades will save $100,000. Being creative gives you the satisfaction of having your van being created with your specific likes and needs met and will be more reliable and durable as well. ( hire help if you need to or pay to have it done , but your input on how the build is designed and done will be crucial to you enjoying what you have.)
You're van is a lot nicer looking. I think overall, I'd still take your van. More storage, nicer looking, and a lot of the "more convenient" aspects of the other van you could do if you decided you wanted to.
a lot of these features you can add to yours over time
I'm in the market to buy a van I love the Revel the one reasons why I will not buy it is the price for what you get it just too small if it was the size of your van I would have one. Your van is a keeper throw maybe another 10-15 thousand in it and you'll have the king of campers. You are van is beautiful.
0:04 pucahontas trimbes inted to END and tax that to hell IT DONALDS FOULT
This is what happens with everything and idea starts out and it’s great like tiny living and then big companies jump on it and tiny living from building a really nice home for like three $5000 turns into 150,000 come on finding $150,000 I have me a nice little cottage forget about the van I would not spend that much money even if I won the lotto that’s crazy I know some people wouldn’t great but my goodness now tiny living is so expensive you can afford it and that’s why I got started because people couldn’t afford to live in apartments and houses or buy them now you can’t afford tiny living so sad
👍
You dont number 2 in the van. All touring bands know that rule.
They make AC swamp coolers that are super energy efficient and run on 12v so it's perfect for off-grid life
Could you just imagine if you guys would install all those things that the Revel has that the Sprinter don't have, BUT WAIT you guys are too lazy to even imagine all those things and even more lazy to actually install them....
This dude is prone to accidents
I love you guys..but things have gotten boring. Sorry❤️
Your not supposed climb the ladder on the back door you remove the ladder from the back door and pull on special mount point on the side
I am planning to start travelling all over the world with a small RV that i can use it as a car and park inside the cities. I know nothing about RVs and just start learning. Where should i start. Lots of info and different combination it is so confusing.
I am ready to DIY too.
What jacket are you wearing? It's cool.
U should buy this van
I love that I only spent 6k and I’m doing the exact same stuff
@KorneliaTV don’t get a big sprinter or transit, buy an older van that still runs well, sacrifice the head room and come to terms with having to stand on your knees when you’re in the van, don’t expect anything fancy like a composting toilet or shower, use as many salvaged materials as possible
Omg how? I need to know 😂
Excellent !!!
Honestly I think a lot of the points for the expensive one come from the fact that it was engineered by professionals while you built yours yourselves with a rough idea of what you'd need (in terms of space and storage). Now you actually know exactly what you need and want... so I think if you could totally build your perfect van for a fraction of the cost. $150.000 for a car is just outrageous in my opinion.
08:38 ... 120k, and the builders not use spirit level? 😟
When you screamed a bird made that sound too
The "sink drain pump" sounds like a tank climbing up a hill and the vertical pantry is no a slide out. For 150k is no good for they could surely find a less noisy pump and have done a tour in the neares IKEA store to find a slide out pantry. I don't argue the overall quality but honestly i saw much better at a fraction of the cost in DIY conversion - or lower budget as well. Just my two cents...
whats annoying about videos like this? I pay monthly fee to CNworld so I don't have to watch adds yet I'm watching adds. fuck me.
Hey guys, I live in a 2019 backcountry Travel trailer. I’m looking at purchasing a class b . Any advice as far as which class b can handle our brutal - 40 winters?? Dealing with the cold is my #1 concern. Thanks for your time . Peace
Keep the sink or tub drizzling in the winter to prevent freezing.
If the awning is not the SunSetter Retractable Awning, then I don’t want it.
👀Rich Rebuild
(her daughter) are those for sale?
Or put 10k into a school bus
Lots of food for thought for upgrades...
so you had a propane leak and you set the leak on fire? why am i not subscribed to this channel!?
new van new van new van new van
say it with me kids new van
new van
You should look at afvbuilds.com they take everything that you want from the $175K van and sell the entire package Van and Upfits for just under $100K Its the best I have ever seen for that price!
🇿🇦♥️♥️
The more complicated it is the more there is to go wrong and even if you can afford to pay somebody to fix it for you (which most van dwellers cannot) you still gotta find the person and bring the van to them, all of which takes time. Keep it simple...
You can buy a brend new van with less than that money.
0:19 did he use a lighter to check for a gas leak?
9:05 I winced
Fun if your 12 yrs old.
Clutch LOLOL
Those features are not worth an extra 100k I think but that van is not priced to be owned outright.
I’ve been wondering why he don’t just pee outside instead of inside bc it would save more room in the pee bucket
They put a lot of convenience in the Revel, but not more functionality for $100,000 more. Although the toilet set up in the Revel way better. And I love, love the roominess of your van verses the the revel, cause at 6’3” their bed and table size are deal killers. Fun comparison, great video.
A commercial done by the class clown. Go find a job! Did you not intend to do travel vlogs? All I've seen is you drive around and break things. Not worth watching anymore...
There is no such thing as a perfectly built RV but in my opinion this van cnworld.info/free/YpVrr2vauoSmm7M/sh-p-n comes close to perfect. I recommend anyone check this out, you won't be disappointed.
"Gives you just enough room to mount the bed horizontally"... Yeah, I hate those vertical beds.
LoL
